Recently Iframe and obfuscated javascript exploits have become a serious threat.

It looks like the attack usually has two stages.

1. Account passwords harvesting. On the first state they collect passwords for the accounts. We will call this stage “account passwords harvesting”. Details on how they do that are fuzzy. The truth is that on a typical Linux server it might enough to get just one user account password to be in a reasonably good position to get the root via some king of little known or unpatched exploit. Zones and jails are better in this respect as they protect other users from easily compromised “suckers” who happily use passwords like 123456 or use infected with spyware PCs at home. Actually the complexity of the password should be beefed up to at least 8 characters. But this does not help if the user computer is infected with a keylogger. ISPs need to handle vastly difference classes of users and security is always as good as the weakest link.

2. Mass modification of index files. On the second stage the pool of passwords harvested is used to modify certain files. We will call this stage “mass modification of index files”. It looks like this stage was automated and they use a special tool, called MPACK, to install malicious IFrames. Usually only main site index documents were targeted (i.e. index.php, index.html, index.shtml, etc.). Malicious IFrames are usually installed at the beginning or at the end of the document. This attack stresses the fact that Web browsers should now be installed on VM and used with a special disposable image of Windows. Shane Bond the tall deadly fast bowler joined ICL back january 2008. Due to which he was removed from the National Team. Similarly Daryll Tuffey and few other important and experience players experienced the same treatement and now New Zealand is greatly suffering with a young team.

Just Imagine a battle between India and New Zealand with Shane Bond in the team. Just like Shewag is for India Shane Bond is for New Zealand. Players leave tours for plenty of reasons, a common one being the birth of a child, but Kevin Pietersen had a novel one for wanting to leave the Caribbean during the Test series against West Indies. The Sunday Telegraph reported that Pietersen had asked for permission to return home between the third and fourth Tests in order to watch his wife Jessica Taylor, a former Liberty X singer, take part in the television show Dancing on Ice.

He only wanted to go home for 48 hours but his request was refused by the team management. “It was deemed best that he stayed on tour,” said an ECB spokesman. Perhaps it contributed to Pietersen being at the “end of his tether” by the time the ODIs arrived. Read the rest of this entry »

Gautam Gambhir is someone who is impulsive and aggressive enough to elbow a bowler and miss the next match as punishment wouldn’t usually be associated with a task that requires intense levels of patience and discipline over long periods. Especially when the job starts on the third evening, and certainly not when there is a spell where a batsman scores one run in an hour.

The Napier Test has not yet been saved, but Gambhir has been instrumental in India taking that big step towards doing it, and he has made sure he is there to try and take the final steps as well. That, after having batted more than seven hours for only 102 runs, scoring 88 runs in 242 balls today, and only 19 in the final session.

After 26 years, Gulzar is once again teaming up with Ilayaraja for Shah Ruk Khan’s movie directed by Ajay Varma. The Lyricist Gulzar and Music Maestro Ilayaraja have worked together in 1983 for Balu Mahendra’s movie Sadma.

URL Redirect

URL Redirection is used primarily for redirecting from old URL to new URL.

My OLD URL was

which i needed to redirect to

http://raptor.in/?s=suchitra

Solution
Redirect 301 “/mirchi suchi/” http://raptor.in/?s=suchitra

Challenge
The challenge here was that my old url contained a white space which took me a lot of time to fix. Then I found a solution after googleing. To understand the solution I found was even more challenging. Since entertainment.raptor.in was a sub-domain I tried to put this redirect rule in .htaccess in the entertainment folder.

1. Cache common images on different pages.

Even  with IE7 caching of images didn’t seem to happen. I felt in IE8 things would be better but it is not so. For every request images gets downloaded again and again. This is most irritating for any user. Rest other broswers like Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, Opera all seem to cache the common images and it gives a wonderful user experience. I don’t know why IE7 and IE8 doesn’t seem to have this feature. If there is a workaround I don’t know it now!!!

Without this very important feature I see that IE is further going loose the market.

2. Fix for the last saved path bug.

IE8 doesn’t remember last saved path. I believe this bug was there in beta version but it still persist even after release. I don’t know what is going on!!!

If you are using windows media player for listening songs then you might wonder how to minimize the player to system like winamp, itunes, or any other player.

One way is to add “Windows Media Player” as a toolbar like this. Right Click taskbar -> Properties -> Toolbar.

Even with this work around still the taskbar is not utilized fully. I don’t know why Microsoft doesn’t think about this simple option. Wondering whether there are any copyright issues. I always wanted Microsoft windows to provide multiple workspace option so that one can switch between each workspace. In this way the taskbar can be used most effectively. “Group Similar Windows” is something that is not good for users who open mutiple windows!!!

Finally I found this plugin. You can download the plugin here WMPTray Plugin1.0.

This plugin is available only in Portuguese. Not worries there is no issues as nothing needs to be know to use this. Once you download you need to copy the WMPTray.dll file to “C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Plugins” or which ever drive you have installed you OS.

INSTALLATION:

1) If Windows Media Player is open, close it;

2) Copy the file WMPTray.dll to the folder C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Plugins\;

3) Click Start> Command Prompt;
Note: In Vista, You must right click over command prompt and choose “run as administrator”

4) Enter: regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Plugins\WMPTray.dll” and press Enter.

5) Open Windows Media Player, click Tools> Plug-ins and check the option WMPTray Plugin.

There you have it.
