Radio One FM 94.3 has tied up with BBC for providing some of its content. Launched in January 2007, it has, during the course of five months, endeared itself to listeners and continues to grow in strength. The secret behind this success is the innovative programming and its continuous celebration of Chennai. Yet another innovation for the benefit of listeners is the tie-up with BBC for providing content on its Breakfast Show. From June 6, 2007, Radio One has made subtle changes to its programming mix to ensure that Radio One demonstrates its core promise consistently and continuously every 20 minutes.
EL V Navaneeth, station head, Radio One, Chennai, said, “We are proud and delighted to carry original content in Tamil from BBC on our station. BBC is a household name in Chennai and this association will certainly add value to listeners and help Radio One build further on the strong position it has built for itself.”
Radio One also announced that Suchitra, one of Chennai’s best known radio voices, will host the Breakfast Show. Suchi will entertain and engage listeners on Radio One from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Saturday. “We want to be a dominant player in this market and also emerge as a station that attracts the best radio talent. Suchi will add to the enormous creative and people talent which have helped build Radio One as a leading brand in a short span of time,” he said.
