Wheel of Work

I came to know about the great giant wheel of work through Swami Vivekananda quotes. He is a great visualizer.

He says,

“Everything will come to you if you put your shoulders to the wheel. … Now, go to work!”

“Great things can be done only through great sacrifices. No selfishness, no name, no fame, yours or mine, nor my Master’s even! Work, work the idea, the plan, my boys, my brave, noble, good souls–to the wheel, to the wheel put your shoulders! Stop not to look back for name, or fame, or any such nonsense. Throw self overboard and work. Remember: “The grass when made into a rope by being joined together can even chain a mad elephant.” The Lord’s blessings on you all! His power be in you all–as I believe it is already.”

“Nature grinds all of us. Keep count of the ounce of pleasure you get. In the long run, nature did her work through you , and when you die your body will make other plants grow. Yet we think all the time that we are getting pleasure ourselves. Thus the wheel goes round.”

“This world’s wheel within wheel is a terrible mechanism. If we put our hands in it, as soon as we are caught we are gone. We all think that when we have done a certain duty, we shall be at rest; but before we have done a part of that duty, another is already in waiting. We are all being dragged along by this mighty, complex world-machine.”

So I try to work. I enjoy I love my work with are simpler but when it comes to a certain level where the difficulty is greater I tend to succumb due to lack of interest.

then Swami Vivekananda says this,

“Even the greatest fool can accomplish a task if it is after his heart. But the intelligent one is he who can convert every work into one that suits his taste.”

So am I a fool? Many a time our heart tends to like things that are simple and easy. But there are works that are not simple and easy.

So to sum it up the “Wheel of Work” is all about hardwork whether you like you work or not, if you are intelligent you will enjoy it.
